As I reflect on this holy time of Christmas, I remember my first trip to the Holy Land– we went to Bethlehem to the place they celebrate the birth of Jesus over 2000 years ago. As I bent to touch the mark of the place of his birth, I become overwhelmed with emotion as I thought to myself that when Jesus was born, there was a shift in the universe so great, and it would never be the same again! The feeling of the awareness of this shift was so intense in me that I wept with complete joy!! Each year at the 25th of December, I remember this moment with great love for the birth that truly changed the world.
In this holy season, let us pause amidst the busyness to reflect on the true meaning of Christmas. May our hearts be filled with gratitude, our actions with kindness, and our lives with the joy that comes from knowing the love of Christ. Let us carry the spirit of Christmas beyond December, living each day in the light of His love and truth.
